Events for 03/03/2010

The Real McGonagall  [More Info]
02/18/2010 to 03/07/2010

On the eve of his return voyage to Scotland, Sir William Topaz McGonagall recites his outrageously bad poetry at a saloon in New York. Is he a fool? A joke? Or is the joke on any of us who has ever secretly yearned for artistic self-expression but not dared go public? A hilarious account of the true life-story of the world's worst poet and his dubious (but lovable) place in history.

Maine Restaurant Week  [More Info]
03/01/2010 at 08:00 AM to 03/10/2010 at 11:45 PM

Maine Restaurant Week is Monday, March 1 through Wednesday, March 10 . This is the second year for the statewide event, offering diners an affordable and fun reason to explore new restaurants or visit an old favorite during March, traditionally one of the quietest months of the year for Maine restaurants. Participating chefs will once again showcase their signature dishes on specially priced, prix fixe menus. In 2010, restaurants will serve three-course meals priced at 20.10, 30.10 or 40.10 during Maine Restaurant Week. Two additions this year: a few select inns, hotels and B&Bs, inlcuding Portland Harbor Hotel, will be offering special lodging rates and some restaurants will serve an optional lunchtime Restaurant Week menu for 15.10. All participating restaurants, their menus, lodging partners and special event information can be found at www.mainerestaurantweek.com.

Master Harold ... and the Boys  [More Info]
03/02/2010 to 03/28/2010

A sometimes comic, frequently searing, and ultimately hopeful coming of age story set during a rain-soaked afternoon in South Africa. Fugard's masterpiece is a powerful examination of the impact of apartheid on the close friendship between young Hally, a teenager from a fractured family trying to find his place, and two black servants.
