A sometimes comic, frequently searing, and ultimately hopeful coming of age story set during a rain-soaked afternoon in South Africa. Fugard's masterpiece is a powerful examination of the impact of apartheid on the close friendship between young Hally, a teenager from a fractured family trying to find his place, and two black servants.

The adorable rabbits of Margaret Wise Brown’s beloved children’s books spring to life as delightful puppets. Maine family favorite Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns with two new puppet-theater productions featuring cuddly rabbits – Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny.  Mermaid Theatre brings its whimsical puppetry, dreamlike imagery, original music, and soothing “bunny banter” to these childhood classics.

Geared toward ages 2-7.

Glorious, powerful, intelligent - Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) is dance that energizes, inspires, and feeds the soul.  DCDC presents the work of three of the most creative geniuses in American dancemaking, drawn from the company's participation in the Kennedy Center's festival Masters of African-American Choreography:  Donald McKayle's masterwork Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder, about a group of men on a prison chain gang;  Tony-nominated choreographer Donald Byrd's JLawrence Paint (Harriet Tubman Remix), inspired by the paintings of Jacob Lawrence; and hip-hop-inflected dancemaker Rennie Harris's Jacob's Ladder, also informed by a Lawrence painting.  DCDC recently marked its 40th anniversary performing the world's largest repertoire of works by African-American choreographers.
