Renovations

We are excited to announce that we will be undergoing renovations this winter. Our goal is to enhance your experience as a guest of the Portland Harbor Hotel; our renovations will result in an improved main entrance, a new lobby area and upgrades to all of our guest rooms. The work will begin January 2, and is expected to be completed by March 31.

The work on the hotel facade and main entrance involves closure of the entrance used by pedestrians (the corner of Fore St. and Union St.) from January 26 to March 14th. During this time, guests will be able to access the hotel through our valet parking entrance on Fore St., just 25 ft. away.

We will keep disruptions to a minimum with no weekend or nighttime work. In addition, upgrades to the guest rooms will be done by closing one floor at a time so you will never be in a room near the construction. This will ensure that you will continue to experience the same level of service and comfort that the Portland Harbor Hotel has become known for. We apologize for any inconvenience the renovations may cause.

The restaurant and bar will remain open and will not be affected in any way. Our outdoor courtyard garden with firepit will remain a tranquil spot for a cocktail or a hot chocolate, and our chef's ever-changing menu will continue to tempt diners for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

When our renovations are complete the lobby will connect the Portland Harbor Hotel to the charm of the Old Port with expanded windows overlooking Fore St., bringing some of the outdoors in. Our new, expanded lobby area will feature cozy sitting areas where guests may choose to relax with a cup of coffee or with a cocktail.

The color palette is inspired by the sea, bringing some of the colors of the ocean to the Hotel's interior.

You can follow the progress as we go along and we hope you will check back routinely. To see design boards, updates, planned elements and more, visit this page or follow us on Facebook starting in January.
